If you haven’t heard yet, Glyphius 2009 is being released tomorrow on a 24 hour special. I don’t know the price yet but I just came from Glyphius.com where the current buy link takes you to PayPal for $100 per month subscription. I don’t know if that is really going to be the price, but it sounds a bit high to me.

Don’t get me wrong. Glyphius 2007 and Glyphius 2008 are awesome pieces of software and I am sure Glyphius 2009 will be too. But considering you can buy the previous versions at Glyphius2008.com for about $100, a 1200% price increase seems steep, even if it is updated.

So what are the updates? Well, supposedly the database will be updated monthly. Sounds great if not a bit excessive. Diego Norte is suggesting that the global economic crisis is effecting copy effectiveness on a monthly basis. I’m sure it is. He says by 1-2% per month. O.K. I’ll buy that. So for an extra $1100 you get a 12-15% increase in effectiveness. FOr some that will be an excellent invetment. For others it will be excessive.

So, if you weren’t lucky enough to snag it at his 24 hour sale upon release, or if Glyphius 2009  was too expensive even on sale, shoot over to Glyphius2008.com and buy a copy of either Glyphius 2007 or Glyphius 2008. They are still great investments.

Here we go, preparing for the inevitable. Glyphius 2009 will most likely be released some time in the first quaarter of 2009 just like Glyphius 2008 was released at that time in 2008 and Glyphius 2007 was released in the first quarter of 2007.

James Brausch, the creator, updates the software each year and in 2008 started licensing a handful of resellers. It is anyone’s guess whether this was a successful model and will be repeated or not. Given that I’ve only been able to locate one of the 4 who supposedly bought a license from him, I’m not sure he made as much as he had hoped fom the model.

So I am prepared to offer Glyphius 2009 if and when it becomes available, whether to resellers or affiliates. Because the fact is that Glyphius is an awesome piece of sofware that analyzes your copy and “scores” it in comparison to successful and unsuccessful advertising campaigns.

When he sold the rights to an older version of Glyphius, James noted that the change each year does have an effect of 1-2% on the effectiveness of the software. So basically, if you do big business and can afford to buy a new copy each year, you should. If money is tight, you can even buy a copy that is a year or two old.

Check out Glyphius2008.com for a comparison of Glyphius 2008 and Glyphius 2007.
